HOCKEY.

WEST END V. MERCANTILE. The men’s hockey competition war continued on the Childers Road reserve on Saturday afternoon, the opposing teams being West End A (Sim, captain) and Alercantile (AlcDougall, captain). A fast- and most exciting game, which some of the players describe as the best game of the season, resulted in a win for A Vest End A by 3 points to 1. T. fc'male, who played an excellent game uiroughout, scored all three points for West End, and Roderick scored for Alercantile. Alessrs Olsen and Soundey acted as referees.
