RUGBY FOOTBALL.
SATURDAY’S GAMES. One junior and one third grade were the onlv Rugby matches played on Saturday. In the junior game KnitiCity and West End ployed a pointless draw, after a strenuous tussle. Air Pudney refereed. The third grade match between Kaiti-City and High School proved an exciting tussle. High School, through the late arrival of a couple of flic players had only 13 men for the greater portion of the first spell and at halftime City had scored 6 points—tries by Fitzmaurice and Walters. During the second half the School team gradually overhauled their opponents’ score anil were on level terms with about ten minutes to go. After repeated onslaughts on the Kaiti line Far am eventually found his wav across and scored only a short space before the call of time. Woodward was responsible for the other two tries registered by the School. In fact the victory of the School team was in no small measure due to Woodward, who played a sterling game right through and shone out in the van of every forward rush. The final score was: High School 9 points, Kaiti-City G points. Air Doran was referee.
