PERSONAL NOTES.

Mr. -J. R. Kirk, who for the past three weeks 'has been engaged in the Native Appellate Court at To Araroa, returned to town, last evening. An old resident of the East Coast, in the person of Air. Jas. Knox doed at Auckland a day or two ago. Ihe lute Air. Knox settled on a piece ot land between Port Awanui and le Araroa, and for many .years represented that part of the. district on the Waiapu Countv Council. He was very well known. Air. Knox retired to Devon port-, Auckland, a few yeare hack. Some time ago he was knocker, over in Auckland by a motor car. anti., doubtless this quickened Ins end. He was about 70 years of age.
