Carroll gave notice_in Parliament to-day to ask the Alinister for Public- Works whether , the progress being made by the Gisborne-Napier railway during the past year is in keeping with the importance of the undertaking, why construction work beyond the railhead at N vatu pa was allowed to remain absolutely idle for three or four months during the last summer, and whv three years have been, allowed to elapse over the erection of the W’aipaoa railway bridge (still far from completion) thus considerably delaying tne opening oi the Ngatapa section P
