CASE OK MEASLES ABOARD. (Press Association Telegram.) WELLINGTON, duly 21. Ju-t before the House of Representatives rose to-night the Minister for Public Health. (Hon. H. RRhodes) made a statement with regard to the Hospital Ship. Maheno. It had been rumored, he said, that a case of errebro spina! meningitis had occurred on the vessel, but that it had been proven to be without foundation. A case of measles had been mpoi o- i to-dav and. in order to allay any un-easiness.-His Excellency the Governor desired the tact to be known that he bad received notification to-day lha' a member oi Hie crew had developed measles. He had been landed at Adelaide and his mate had been isolated. so ii was not feared the disease would spread. SICKNESS OF SOLDIERS. Mr G. W. Russell (Avon) asked if the Minister had any statement to make as regards what had happened at Berhamporo Hospital to-day. Mr Rhodes: :l have nothing to say with regard to Berhamoore. \\ e removed the men from there. Mr Witty: Death is removing some of them, 1 am afraid. Mr Russell’s reference v.js to the Wellington Hospital and he said that within the last half-hour he had received information that two men had died and two others were very had. Mr Rhodes said that there were serious cases at Trentham, but they were somewhat better that day. Berhamporo had been closed down.. .He knew that there were some serious cases at Wellington Hospital, but the deaths referred to had not. been reported to him. Dr. Thacker (Christchurch East; asked whether the report of the medical men on Trentham would be laid before the House to-morrow eveningf Mr Rhodes: 1 understand the Commission unofficially lias asked seven doctors to go out to Trentham. Whatever report- they make they will make it to the Commission.

TWO DEATHS IN WELLINGTON. LATEST REPORTS. WELLINGTON", July 21. Seen after House rose the Minister for Public Health .stated that he got into touch with the authorities of the Wellington Hospital and found that two men had died there, though the fact had not been previously reported to him. One patient was suffering from oerebro spinal meningitis and died this afternoon, and the other was admitted as a measles patient and died yesterday. Later.—The two soldiers who died in Wellington from moneingitis in the last twenty-four hours are Troopers Daniel Kemptliorne, belonging to Templeton., Christchurch who died at 11.4(1 p.m. on Tuesday in the Victoria Hospital, and Private Duncan Fraser, of Pokeuo, near Auckland, who died at 12.15 p.m. on Wednesday in the General Hospital. The next-of-kin are not ascertainable to-night.
