POVERTY BAY RUGBY UNION.
WEEKLY MEETING. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the P.B. Rugby Union was held last night in the training shed. The following were present:—Messrs IV. R. Burge (chairman), A. Doran, P. Edmundson, and J. Or E. Turner (lion, secretary). It was decided to select a town fifteen to journey out to the Kara lea on Saturday, July 31. The selection of the team was left in the hands of Mr A. Doran. It is the Union’s intention to run a special train out providing sufficient inducement offers, at a charge of Is per head. The arrangements with the stutionmaster was left in the hands of the secretary.
The following third-grade players were posted to the Ivaiti-City Club: Cooper (Mnkaraka). Kane and Jackson "(Mata whero). Mr A. Doran reported a lad for using bad language in the training shed on Thursday last. After hearing evidence and hearing the lad in defence, it was decided that he be prohibited the use of the shed during the Union's pleasure. Members of the Management Committee intimated that they intended to deal with a firm hand with all players who, whilst in the Union’s training shed, misbehaved themselves or abused the privileges given to them. It was decided 1 to get a “working bee” on. Tuesday next to wheel and shovel sand on to the training shed floor in order to pre vent the dust arising which at present is very troublesome. The following are the fixtures for Saturday' next: — Juniors. 3 p.m.. Kaiti-City v - West End; Thirds. 1.4;> p.m., Boys’ High School v. KaitiCity challenge match, 3 p.m., Boys High School v. Old Boys.
