HUGE (SCHEME ABOUT TO HE STARTED. CFBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM, > WELLINGTON, July 18. A. beginning is to be made next week with the special effort of . the ‘Wellington branch of the Patriotic Society to dispose, of tickets in the Waikato Land Art Union in add of the Soldiers and Sailors Dependent s .Fund. - Mr John MFMnster, of Wairarapa, has donated £4OOO worth of shares in the Marital Farms, Ltd., Waikato, for the purposes of the art union, and 100,000 tickets are to be disposed of at 5s each. A total -sum ot £25.000 will thus he raised, and. the Wellington branch, of the Patriotic .Society has decided that'after the deduction of expenses an equal division of the proceeds shall lie made be•tween the four military districts ot the Dominion — A u del a ml, Well mgton, Canterbury, and Otago. The art union has therefore been made a matter of national interest instead of being limited to Wellington. ' : To Mr D. "'McLaren has been entrusted the management ot the whole affair, and this gentleman Fill on Monday make a start with the •distribution 'of tickets in. the Wairarapa district.
