Adair, of Ormond road, received the following letter from her son Archie who was as it unhappily turned out lying at the time on what proved to he his death.bod: No. L 5 General Hospital, Alexandria. May 30th, 191 b Abysieh Hospital, Alexandria. May. 16.. 1910. Dear Mother and Boys,—l am hero in hospital with a bullet m my hark,, but 1 am getting on pretty well now. I hope you are all keep-ing-in good health. They make me as comfortable as possible here and I hope to be tip in about a week. Your son, ARCHIE. I cannot sit up enough to write myself yet. The same mail brought a touching letter from the Hospital Chaplain:— .tear Airs Adair, —I am writing to you about your son, Pvto. R. A. Adair. He was lying here seriously wounded and made very little progress. I am sorry to have to tell you that- he' died neacefully last Wednesday or Thursday. Poor chap, he got verv weak, bat ho was very brave and patient died like a hero and a Briton. J_ / was often with him and did what r could for him. I was with him just before he died.
