THE BEDS FOR THE NURSES HOME.
A COMPLAINT OF EXTRAVAGANCE.
Tho question of new bods for the Nurses’ Home was brought up at the Hospital Board by Mr Hokleu, who said that there was an objection_ to beds from the isolation ward being brought into the nurses’ homo. They were alsp too large for the rooms. The Chairman said that there was no necessity to get new beds when they had any number of beds available at the hospital. It was time that the Board took a stand to stop extravagance. Dr Collins said that there were in the hospital certain deoartments, and where the heads of these departments put forward recommendations based on something solid the Board should not override them without good reason. Mr Jex-Blake said he agreed with the Chairman that it was time extravagance should be put to stop to. On the motion of l>r Collins, the Chairman was authorised to confei with the matron regarding the beds required for the nurses’ home.
