A presentation was made at Liverpool recently to the eaptniij, ami crew of the steamer Aquiln, in recognition of their bravery when t]ie vessel was attacked and sunk by a Gorman submarine on 27th March., Sir A. It was important that the real, position should he emphasised. til April there were cargoes worth £114,000,000 carried in and out of the ports of the United Kingdom-, ■' The value of the destroyed cargoelrwas-less than .£50,000. or about one shilling i n the ■filOO. The •'.‘blockade” had been a miserable failure.
