MAGNIFICENT WELCOME IN AUCKLAND. (TRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND. July 16. Auckland accorded the returned sol--1 diers a magnificent welcome. Long ; before the hospital train arrived ' Queen Street was packed with dense i crowds, business premises being gaily j decorated with bunting. 'The train i arrived shortly before three o’clock ; and a guard of honor and a band beI ing in attendance at the station. As : the men were passing up Queen Street in ambulances and motor cars crowds I cheered them to the echo, flowers bo- | ing showered on the soldiers as they passed. A brief civic reception was i hold in the Town Hall for those well enough to attend.
