OPERA HOUSE PICTURES
The seventh episode of the splendid wild animal thrill “Adventures of Mvatidyn” will be screened at the Opera House this evening. This number which is an exceptionally good one is very exciting. / Kathlvn and Bruce escape from the brigands, and, retracing their steps to Allalui, plan to deliverance of Colonel Hare. R.amaba suggests to Umballah theidea of marrying Colonel Hare, who has Ireen forced upon the throne, to a native girl, and he agrees. Native girls are paraded before Colonel Hare who sees amongst thorn Kathlvn, heavily veiled. Umballah unwittingly releases the leopard guard of the treasure room, and in the melee that follows our party escapes. Kathlvn, however, is found to he missing. The latest War Budget is very interesting, some of the scenes shown are: With the Servians—Our Voluntary Army— Nibbling the German Line—ln Rumania—Reel Cross Ambulance Cars— London Rifle Brigade—The Panama Exhibition, etc. Keystone players are seen in “Fatty’s Magic Pants,” an uproarous comedy featuring Keystone Fatty. “The Barrier of Flames,” a splendid two-part drama and “Fisherman Kate,” a delightful Vitagraph comedy, complete this highly attractive programme.
WORLD’S PICTURES. No picture theatre in New Zealand is more up-to-date than the World’s. Their star feature in to-day’s change of programme will only be released for exhibition to-day (July 14) in any part of tho world. This star film, “The Glare of the Lights,” is produced in conjunction with the “Ladies World Magazine,” and the picture contains the scene of the missing paragraph in the story of the same name in the “Ladies’ World” for the solution of which cash prizes have been offered. - Francis X. Bushman, who so recently won the American prize for the most popular dramatic actor, is cast in the leading role, and something exceptionally good may be expected. The comedy element will ho a big feature in this series, including a Trans-Atlantic special entitled. “A Political Mess,” which shows two candidates for the mayoral ly. One represents big interests, the other the people's party. The former decides to leave a bust made of himself, and he experiences the sensation of having the necessary east made in plaster. His rival gets wind of this and. not to he outdone, follows suit, and his rival being informed, formulates a plan and arranges to take the sculptor’s d 1 ace, and Die people’s choice has a severe time for the plaster his rival uses sets like iron. The tun becomes fast and furious and finally a woman’s wit savps the situation and the mail in the plaster mask is returned mayor by a huge majority.
