FIGHTING OPPOSITIONISTS
NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION SUGGESTED. By Telegraph —Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, July 12. It is freely reported—in fact, almost freely admitted; by certain members of the Opposition, who, by their exceeding loquacity are known as the lighting members of the party—(that the present- pacific state of things in politics and in the House irks them sorely. They are suggesting now that there ought- to lie a no-confidence motion based on what they are nl eased to term the “Trentham scandal,” and it is said that they ate very anxious to go on with such a motion. It is also said, however, that the Leader of the Opposition realises that lie can do good neither to the;.country.nor to ins party by a declaration of . political war," and it is regarded as highly improbable that the motion will materialise.
