PERSONAL NOTES.
Sub-Inspector Johnstone returned to Gisborne yesterday after attending sessions of the Police Court held at Tolago Bay and Waipiro Bay. Advice was received in Auckland on Thursday that Air. John Murray, formerly general manager of the Bank of New Zealand, died in Bathurst, N<-w tSoutii Wales, on "Wednesday last week, at the age of 80 veans. He- was one of the most widely-known hankers in Australasia.
