MEETING OF THE UNION

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMARU BAY, July 9. A meeting of the committee of tho Tokomaru Rugby Football Union was held! at the Te Puka Hotel on Wednesday night. Mr. Gardner presided, and l there was a full attendance of members. After the match on Saturday, Wanderers v. City—this being the last match in connection with the Turnhull Clip—it is proposed] to commence a series of competitions, seven men a side. It is expected that several teams will compete, and this competition should tend to keep alive the interest in the game. By their win on Saturday last City have won tho Turnbull Chip. A match is being arranged between Tologa Bay and City for a date to be fixed-. A committee, consisting.of Messrs. J. Oates D. Henderson, Gardner, J. Somervell, and Kilgour. is to make the arrangements for the seven a side competitions, and also for a dance. The men who were ordered off the grounJ by the referee on Saturday last were dealt with. One was suspended! for the rest of the season, one cautioned, and the third charge was dismissed'.

In the junior section, City and Wanderers have each one game to their credit. The third game will be played on Saturday.
