EDUCATION BOARD.
YESTERDAY’S MEETING. (By Telegraph—Special Corrospondetii.J NAPIER, July 8. The monthly meeting of theHawke’s Bay Education Board was held to-day. Present: Messrs Sheath, McLeod, Roach, Miller, and Grant. Tologa Bay’s request for blinds, etc. was granted. The matter of a fence was deferred. Mangapapu’s request for details oi the financial position was deferred for one month. The P.B. School Committee’s letter was deferred till next meeting. Napier South wrote asking for linoleum for the teachers’ retiring room. —Declined. Otoko wrote asking for a subscription of £ for £. —Granted. Gisborne wrote asking for the replacement of desks.—To bo provided in due course.
Gisborne’s other requirements were granted. Te Hapara wrote asking for further additions.—Department to be asked for a grant. Makaraka wrote asking for painting and desks.—Granted. Patutalii wrote asking for conveyance of children.—Granted. Mangapapa wrote objecting to the change of name.—Received. The Tol'oga Bay Progressive League wrote objecting to the removal of tlic school.—No action taken. Tiio Gisborne H.S. Board’s appointment of a representative was deferred for one month. Leave of absence was granted to Mr J. It. Kirk and Rev. A. Grant.
