POVERTY BAY CLUB

The last Taco in the first round of tile, second trial fours for medals presented by Mr. iH. J. Peaeocke, was rowed on Saturday night,, between C. Somervell (stroke), "T. McConnell (3), R. Hobart (2), M. Sceats (bow), and B. Lowe (stroke), F. Fox (3), J. Parker (2), W. Fitzgerald (bow). Lowe got tho best of tho start, and led to tho Haiti bridge, wliero Somervell, rowing strongly, . overhauled him, and. won an exciting race by barely half-a-length. The second round will bo commenced tliis evening, as follows : —J. W. Nicolas y. A. Pritchard, ~M. McLeod v. C. Winter, F. Seymour v. ! C. Somervell.
