COLLISION AND FALL OF SCAFFOLD.
TWO LIVES LOST

MELBOURNE. Jan. 28
A tram ran into a waggon containing five men near Geelong. A man named Smith was hurled against a post, and had his brains knocked out. Two others, named Brown and Watkins, were thrown over an embankment and badly injured. The others received minor injuries. ADELAIDE, Jan. 28.
A sudden gale demolished the scaffolding at a building at Norwood. Two men were precipitated to the ground. One, named Cotton, was killed instantaneously. His mate bad a marvellous escape. Three passersby were buried in the debris, and two boys were seriously injured.
