CONTESTS AT .HASTINGS. [Press Association.] • HASTINGS, J in. 28., Tho contests, under the auspices of the Hawke’s Bay Boxing Association took place at Hastings to-night. The Premier was among those present. In tho 'match for the championship of Hawke’s Bay, George Dawson (list 101 b) defeated J. Buiko (list 31b). In the match for the Huwkols Bay feather-weight 'championship, F. James :ancl Ike Kutner met, and at the end of 'the third round the refereo declared Kutner the Winner. There was also a match between Tim Tracy (9«t 81b), of Wellington, and Bert Murpliy (9st 7{Jib),'of Hastings, for a purse of U6O. At the end of the fourteenth round the referee announced that Murphy did not wish to fight .any longer. Therefore Tracy was declared the winner. Murpliy said Qie had been unwell for the fast two days, but acknowledged his defeat.
