AN INTERNATIOAL COMBINATION. SCHEME FOR REGULATING TONNAGE. United Press Association. Copyright (Received Jan. 27, 1.10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 26. The Northern shipowners’ meeting at Newcastle adopted the principle of the international union scheme, recently cabled, to regulate the supply of tonnage according to the demand, for submission to the •approaching Baltic conference at Copenhagen. Messages of support have been received fropi all parts of the United Kingdom and abroad, representing a capital of 50 millions sterling. The scheme has been welcomed with enthusiasm in Japan.
