TURANGANUI CLUB.
At the Turanganui Club’s green yesterday afternoon two more .games in tlic Bennett Cup singles were played, the results' being:— M. G.' Nasmith; jnr. (28) beat W. H. Douglas (10). * In the first few heads Nasmith got a commanding lead, and was never troubled. J. Stormont (23) beat TV. H. Douglas (15). Stormont quickly accumulated many points, .and on . the 15th head was 18 to 7. From this point onwards Douglas recovered a lot oi ground, and was. 15 to his opponent’s 19 on the 20th head. He failed, however, to secure the four necessary to tie, Stormont securing the four instead and winning by eight points.
GISBORNE CLUB. A meeting of the Committee of the Gisborne Club is to be held to-night at 8 o’clock to consider a protest that has been lodged in connection with the Qiandican fours tournament. The drawing for the handicap pairs semi-final leaves Corson to play F. Pettie, Ambridge having a bye. The first round in the handicap fours for Martin’s gold medals is to be played off by February 11.
