TVTOTICE is hereby given 111 at- the , Gisborne ..Borough Council in- ! tends to take the necessary steps to obtain the consent of the ratepayers of the Boroug'h of Gisborne to borrow £20,000 by way of special loan for ■the following purposes:— 1. The particular undertakings proposed to be engaged iif aro:— To provide an outfall sewer, power house, and plant for disposal of sewerage, as reported on and recommended by Mr. R. L. Mestayer, M.1.C.E., to the Gisborne Borough Council. 2. Tlie sum proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is £20,000. 3. The proposed security and 'provision for repayment of the loan is a special rate of 3d in the £ upon the annual rental value of all rateable property -within the Borough of Gisborne ; also that a sinking fund of 10s per centum per annum out of such special rate shall be set aside towards repayment of the loan. 4. It is proposed to pay preliminary expenses and cost of raising loan and first year’s interest out of the loan. A MEETING of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne to consider the above proposals will be hold at His Majesty’s Theatre, Gisborne, on MONDAY, flie 2oth day of JANUARY, 1909, at the hour of 8 p.m. W. BOROUGH OF GISBORNE. SPECIAL LOAN OF £35,000 TO . PROVIDE SEWERAGE AND DRAINAGE FOR LIMITED AREAS IN THE BOROUGH. NOTICE is hereby given that the Gisborne Borough .Council intends to take the necessary steps to obtain the consent of the ratepayers of a limited portion of the Borough in respect to the area shown as Nos. 1,2, and 3 on the drainage plan of the Borough of Gisborne, - now deposited at the Council Chambers, and prepared by Mr. R. L. Most aver, to borrow £35,000 by way of special loan ‘for the following purposes:— 1. The particular undertakings proposed to be engaged in are:— To provide sewage drainage and necessary plant for the said areas on the said plan in accordance with the plan and report of Mr. R. L. Mestayer, M.1.C.E., now , deposited in the office of the Gisborne Borough Council, and open for inspection to all ratepayers. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed : for such purpose is £35,000. | 3. The proposed security and provision for repayment of the loan is a special rate of Is 3-ad in the £ upon ■ the annual rental value of all ratei able property situated within the said | areas Nos. 1,2. and 3, as shown upon the abovementioned drainage plan; f also, that a sinking fund of 10s per centum per annum of such special rate shall be set aside towards repayment of the loan. This rate will provide for the annual cost of pumping, i estimated at £llsO per annum. -- 4. It is proposed to pay the preliminary expenses and cost of raising loan and the first year’s interest out of the loan. N.B.—This loan will not be raised unless a poll to authorise the borrowing of £20,000 to provide outer sewer, power house, and plant is carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that' the Gisborne Borough Council intends to take the necessary steps to obtain the consent of the ratepayers of a limited portion of the Borough in respect to the area No. 1,2, and 3 on the drainage plan of the Borough of Gisborne, prepared by Mr. R. L. Mestayer, and deposited at the Council Chambers, to borrow £IO,OOO by way of special loan for the following purposes:— 1. The particular undertakings proposed to be engaged in are:— To provide sewer connections with premises in the aforesaid area with the main sewerage system. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is £IO,OOO. This sum is to be repaid 1 by the owners of properties connecting with the main sewer in proportion to tho amount expended upon each property by instalments of, principal and ' interest, extending over five years. 3. The proposed security and provision for repayment of the loan is a special rate of Is Id in the £ upon the annual rental value of all rateable property situated within the areas marked Nos. 1 ,2, and 3 upon the abovementioned plan; also, that a sinking fund of £2O per centum per annum out of such special rate shall bo set aside to provide for repayment of the loan within five years. 4. It is proposed to pay tho preliminary expenses and cost of raising loan andHhe first year’s interest out of the loan. N.B.—This loan will not be raised unless >a poll to authorise the borrowing of £20,000 to provide outfall sewer and power house, and a poll to authorise the borrowing of £35,000 to provide sewerage and drainage for the above areas, are both carried.
