Co.’s Squall did not get away for Auckland yesterday afternoon, but will probably do so this morning. The cause of her delay was a leak in the pipes between the salt and freshwater tanks. The Union Company are acting as local agents. The Union S.S. Co. s Flora is ex peeted to arrive from Coast ports and Auckland and sails South .in the evening. Passengers not leaving the s.s. 'Manuka this morning will thus have an opportunity of travelling by ’this vessel. The' Union S.S. Co.’s Wanaka' arrived from South last evening with a quantity of produce (for this port. She leaves again for Auckland this morning. Owing to the customary slackness of the grain trade at this time of year she ■ wiill he laid up at Auckland and the crew paid off. The Shaw Savill Co.’s Aotea completed loading last evening and sailed for Napier. Captain ißrinck, of the schooner Aivanui, proceeds by the AVaikare tomorrow for Auckland, where he spends Christmas. 'He returns the following Wednesday, .and the Awaytui will probably sail for the Coast on Thursday for more wool.
