Some good tennis was witnessed on the Kaiti courts on Saturday afternoon, when the Gisborne and Kaiti Clubs tried conclusions. The matches played consisted of four ladies’ doubles, four men’s doubles, and' eight combined doubles. The Gisborne ladies won each of the ladies’ double events, while .in the men’s doubles the Whataupoko players won three and in the combined doubles Gisborne won five matches to three won by Whataupoko. The final result was in favor of the Gisborne club by 191 games to 142.

AUCKLAND, Dec. 21. Exhibition matches between Wilding .and Parker in singles, and Wilding and Grossman and Parker and Fisher in doubles, took place this afternoon on the Eden and Epsom courts. There was a large attencfance including Sir Joseph Ward .and party. In the singles Parker beat Wilding B—6,8 —6, 6 —4. Wilding appeared to have an off day, and at various stages slackened off considerably. Parker’s hitting was invariably well directed, and by his shots he frequently coaxed Wilding out of position by ©lever manoeuvring. iln the doubles Parker and Fisher beat Wilding and Grossman in the first set 6—4, the second set, went to Wilding and .Grossman B—6.8 —6. At this stage Wilding retired. Wilding and Fisher left by the express this evening for Wellington en route to Nelson.
