POVERTY BAY CLUB

The final of the double sculling competition for Mr. C. Morse’s trophies was rowed last night, and resulted in a win for C. Somervell and W. Fitzgerald (Bsec), who beat C. Glark and M. Sceats (7.sec) by lialf-u----lengtli, after a good race. The next competition will be for Mr. F .Harris’ gold medals, and the crews are now actively engaged in training.

VGfSBORNE CLUB. Two further races were rowed off last night in the competition for Mr. W. J. Hennessy’s trophies. C. Hamilton’s crow beat W. Johnson’s bv a few feet, after a most exciting race, and P. Hamilton’s crew had an easy •win over L. B. Sherriff’s, as a member of tlio latter crew smashed his oar.
