The Earl of Crowe, in reply to Mr. Brace, announced that the Government would shortly submit a proposal hoping with tho Opposition’s co-oper-ation to arrive at a satisfactory solution of the accession declaration . Mr. Asquith, in reply to Mr. Watt, said that tho House of Lords’ amendments were such as to make it impossible for the Government to proceed with the Land Values (Scotland) Bill. THE IRISH LAND BILL. Mr. Asquith, in the House of Commons. announced the withdrawal for the present of Mr. Birrell’s Land Bill, which he hoped would be passed in 1909, also the Town Planning Bill.

Lord Weardale and other officers of the political committee of the New Reform 'Club have menioralised Mr. Asquith to introduce a Bill, making it the first work next session, to give effect to the expressed determination of; the House of Commons that the will of the people shall prevail, and if the Lords reject it, then appeal to the country.
