TWO-UP SCHOOL.

A POLICE RAID

WELLINGTON. Dec. 10

For a long time it- lias been common knowledge that. two-up has been much played on the wharves, but the pupils of the gambling school have been too cunning to be caught. The police, however, set a trap. Two members oi ; the force, purporting to be waterside workers, gained admission to tlie school, which bad a session this morning. At 10.30 the school was interrupted by Sergeant Dale with four or five plain clothes men. The school was surrounded, and seven men were captured. They were quietly invited to the police station. and gave' their names, to appear at the Court on December 14, and were then allowed to go on tlieir way.
