Fine weather was experienced for the opening day of the Woodvilile Jockey Club’s summer meeting. The attendance was large. The sum of £7820 was passed through tho totalisator, compared with £10,297 for thecorresponding day last year. Four bookmakers were licensed. Some interesting racing was seen, and in a couple of ©vents exciting finishes were witnessed. Mr. C. O’Connor’s starting ileft nothing to be desired. The folio wing are the results: Maiden Plate, of 65sovs, six furlongs. —Longner, 8.11, 1; Shannon Lass, 7.13, 2; Cockatoo, 8.1, 3.
