Fine weather was experienced for the opening day of the Woodvilile Jockey Club’s summer meeting. The attendance was large. The sum of £7820 was passed through tho totalisator, compared with £10,297 for thecorresponding day last year. Four bookmakers were licensed. Some interesting racing was seen, and in a couple of ©vents exciting finishes were witnessed. Mr. C. O’Connor’s starting ileft nothing to be desired.
