THE GISBORNE CLUB
A meeting of the Gisborne Bowling Club was held yesterday, the fallowing being present: Messrs W. Pettic (chairman), T. Corson,. T. A. Craw*iord, G. Miller, W. R. Brady, W. J. Hcnnessy, T. Clarkson, and C. Ambridge (secretary). An invitation was received from the Marton Club inviting entries for its tournament to bo held at the end of the present month.. The Northern Bpwling Association forwarded its ruling on the t\vo-feot-on-thc-mat proposal, stating tliat there was nothing to prevent the Gisborne Club adopting it for club games und matches - , but the rule could not be enforced in inter-club contests. Considerable discussion took place in .regard to the club’s representation at the championship tournament to bo held in Napier next month. Ultimately it was decided that Mr. T. A. Crawford ho asked to skip the team, it being understood that Mr. F. Martin would be willing to act as No. 3. A number of accounts were passed for payment. The match committee has made tlie following draw in connection with tournaments now in progress:—Handicap Pairs: To be played off on or before Saturday, .December 19 — Craig v. Ambridge, W. R. Clarkson v. Hennossy, F. W. Pettie v. J. H. Martin, Gaudin v. Witty, Corson v. G. Miller. Handicap Fours —J. J. Martin v. R. Robertson, Simson v. Eure, Corson v. Hennessy. Matches to be played off on or before Saturday, December 19.
