POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB

The programme of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s annual meeting uppears in our advertising columns this morning. An increase of stakes has been •made in the various events, notably the Tuxanga Stakes, which is now 2Cosovs, and the Sunderland Stakes, now ISOsovs. The stakes for other events 'havo lalso been increased proportionately. Nominations are duo on the 9th January, and entries for the 'hack events will be taken on 30th January.

MURIWAI MAORI RACING CLUB, 1

- The declaration of weights in connection with the Murivvai Maori Racing Chib’s meeting will take place alter the forthcoming Whatatutu races. The club lias decided that the height for competitors in the Pony Handicap shall be 14.3 -and under.
