FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
PROPOSED ALEDICAL AGEEHAIEXT.
[Phess Association.]
WELLINGTON,_ Dee. 3. A conference of delegates of friendly societies in Wellington district is being held to-day to consider the proposed model of a medical agreement as submitted by the Wellington division of the British Aledical Association. The chairman, in the courso of a statement t-o the conference, said lie could not agree with tlie clause providing for an increase of remuneration, and the clause providing for reduced ' mileage and an increased charge for tlie same was, in his opinion. rather harsh. He believed that a compromise could be affected, but if the ’societies felt themselves strong enough they could obtain doctors who would not of necessity be members of ike British Aledical Association. It was decided to discuss the agreement with closed doors.
