SCULLING.

THE WEBB-ARNST RACE

[Pkess Association.]

WANGANUI, Dec. 2. Though the Webb-Arnst race for* the sculling championship of the world is to take place in a fortnight’s time, comparatively little interest is being manifested by tho public. This is largely accountable to the fact that the contestants are in camp miles up the river. Both men are training satisfactorily,, and are in the pink of ■condition. There is no doubt that a rattling good race will be put up, but critics are of opinion that Webb must win A rust has done some good spins over the full course, and has shown that he can stay till the finishing cost is reached. 'Webb has also gone over the full course, and though times have not been divulged, his party are said to be quite confident as to the result of the race.
