The shareholders in the Bucknall line have consented to transfer the whole fleet of 2S steamers to Ellerman’s combination, thus totalling 112 steamers of 430,000 tons.
A BALLOON ADVENTURE
ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 30
Russian Guards fired at a balloon containing three Breslau aeronauts wdien it- was crossing the frontier at Plesclien. The balloon ascended rapidly and escaped. It- descended at Pocoff, scaring the peasantry.
BRYAN AND THE BEAR
NEW YORK, Nov. 30
Air. W. J. Bryan (who recently contested tho Presidency) shot- a bear in Mexico-. Thinking it dead he approached it, whereupon tlie bear arose and tore Mr. Bryan’s hunting coat to shreds. The rest of the partyfired, finishing the bear.
NEWFOUNDLAND FISHERIES

It is reported in Newfoundland that the United States Government intend to claim . before the Hague tribunal largo damages as compensation for fines inflicted on Americans for offences against the fishery laws.
