l lie first of the races in connection with tlie double-sculls competition for Air. C. Morse’s trophies was rowed last night in favorable weather. C. Winter” and J. Malone (3scc) beat J. Newton .and AY. Hall (llsec) by a length alter a good race, and the other event set down for decision was lMistponcd owing to a mishap to one of tho boats. The races will be continued to-night.

AT! ON. Cl t AMPIONSHIP If EGATTA PROGRAMME. [Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. The Council of the New Zealand Rowing Association at a meeting tonight deckled to obtain legal advice on the question whether a fisherman who uses a rowing boat or a motor launch is a professional. The programme for the championship regatta to be heia 'at Mercer next February was submitted for approval. The prize money totals £250, ■of which £IOO as allotted to the championship fours. It was decided to ask the Auckland Association to alter the times appointed for the championship races so that crews can take part in more than one event, and to see if youths’ fours can ho included in place of one of the •light-weight events.
