SYDNEY, Nov. 21. Brookes and Wilding., won the championship doubles, 6—2, 4 —Ok 6—2.
United Press Association. Copyright (Received November 22, 4.25 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 22. 'Owing to rain the play in the tennis championships was -delayed till the afternoon. The courts were slippery, and interest in the doubles match drew a large attendance. Early in. the play it was apparent that the Americans were suffering from the muggy heat, a succession o) faults giving the Australians a good lead, and they gained the first three games. Brookes and Wilding both played brilliantly throughout, -working together like clockwork. The third set was exciting, the Americans playing -beautiful tennis, their volleying being especially (brilliant. In the final set the Australians had it all their own way, and won the championship amid great cheering.
