[Pnr.ss Association.]
FEILDING, Nov. 19
Before Messrs Fred Pi rani and W. J. B. Trewin (Mayor) this morning, Norman Woods pleaded guilty ' to throwing an egg into the crowd in front of the “Star” office on Tuesday night. Sergt. Bowden asked that a severe penalty bo imposed, as several people had their clothes .spoiled. The Bench inflicted the highest penalty (£5), or one month’s imprisonment. They described tho act ns filthy and loathsome, -and! said it was surprising how any grown man could commit such a filthy act. which had such disgusting results to tho people standing round. It was an organised act, as accused, when caught, had two eggs in his pocket. The Bench were sorry that the. maximum was not £SO, which would not be too high lor such conduct. Tho accused man is aged about 24. Tho fine was paid.
