HON. CAPT. TUCKER AT WAEREN G A-A-H IK A.

tA the meeting of county , electors at Waerenga-a-hilia on Saturday evening, there was a fair attendance, considering the short notice and the fact that it was Saturday night. Air. A. J. Cameron was moved to the chair. The Hon. Capt. Tucker then addressed the meeting, following the same lines as in his address at Alakauri. After a speech of an hour and a-half’s duration, which was listened to most attentively, a few questions were asked and answered satisfactorV y. Tho chairman then proposed, and Mr. Dinan seconded, a vote of thanks to the Hon. Capt. Tucker for his interesting and instructive address, and confidence in him as the representative of Gisborne riding. Tho meeting was emphatically opposed to any county loan as such, but favorable to local loans to suit local requirements, and was .not enthusiastic on the subject of the harbor loan. Air. A. Forde Matthews wild address the ratepayers of the AVhalaupoko riding in the Schoolliouse. Alangapapa, this evening, and in the Schoolliouse, Kaiti, to-morrow evening.

The Hon. Capt. Tucker will give an addiress to the ratepayers of the Gisborne riding of Cook County in the Matawhero School this evening.
