CONCERT AT TE KARAKA.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH GATHERING.

The annual concert and supper in aid of tho Presbyterian Church’s building fund was held at Te Karaka last 'night. There was a large gathyoring, and the concert was very successful. The proceedings opened with a few words of welcome by the chairman, after which tho treasurer (Mr. Foote) read his annual report. An enjoyable programme had been prepared," the various items being as. follows: —Part song, “A. Sunbeam,” school children; songs, “A Dream of Paradise” and ‘‘Queen of the Earth,” Mr. H. J. Grieve; songs, “O, Dry those Tears” and “,Forethought,” Miss Scott; songs, “Believe” and “Anchored,” Mr. Gray; songs, “Star of Bethlehem” and “The Lark,” Mr. H. G. McClymont; recitations, Rev. C. Griffin; songs, “The Admiral’s Broom” and “Tho Skipper,” Mr.. Knipps; songs, “Long ago in Alcala” and “Three for Jack,” Mr. H. J. Brownlee. The accompaniments were played by Mr. Langdon. _ - A nice supper was provided', and a very pleasant evening was spent. r j'ho visiting performers from Gisborno wero thoughtfully looked alter by Mr. Carlisle.
