Speaking at the Atlantic Union’s banquet to l celebrate the establishment of penny postage between the United Kingdom and tiie United States, and in commemoration of the American fleet’s visit to Australian waters, Mr. "Whitelaw Reid, American Ambassador, said that everybody, excepting cable .stockholders, warmly wished for the success of the insatiable Mr. Heniiiker Heaton’s crusade Jffo induce the British-American cable companies to carry a message for a penny a word.
