CRICKET.
POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION
The usual* weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held in the British Empire Hotel last evening, Mr. R. G. Hallamore in the chair. '
Several new members were passed for the various clubs. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to .Messrs- A. Dewing. R. N. Jones, R. S. Chilton, G. B. Oman, and Dr. Collins for donations. The Ground Committee was empowered to purchase wire netting and standards to protect the pitch and have sheep turned into Victoria Domain to cat the grass down. It- was resolved that: a- chip wicket be prepared on Victoria Domain to enable two games of cricket to be played simultaneously., The draw for next Thursday’s competition was -as follows: —United v. Union on the chip wicket, and To Ran v. Cosmopolitan on the concrete pitch. An all-day match was arranged for November 9th, between Married and Single, and Messrs Wack -and Cary were -appointed to select the team®. A team was picked to go to Motu, and Mr. AV. Gibson was appointed manager.
