THE GISBORNE CLUB
The members of the Gisborne Club who Avore on the club’s green on Saturday afternoon had a A r ery enjoyable time, the green being in good order and the weather exceedingly pleasant. Two rink matches Avere played, and resulted as follows: —Pavi'tt, Wilson, W. Pettde, and Hookey 27 beat Wootton, Mclntosh, Paltridge and Simson 22. ; Veale, Winkle, T. Clarkson, and Martin 22 beat Boulton, Kyme, Brown and Ponsford 11. TURANG ANUI CLUB. A number of interesting games Avere played at the Tunauganui club’s rinks on Saturday afternoon. Among the A T isitors Avas Mr. J. M. Caldetr, who lias just completed liis term of office as President of the Maltai (Nelson) Bowling Club, and is at present champion of liis club, avlu> Avas in Gisborne on business connected AA’ith the Rechabite Friendly Society. Ho Avas appointed skip of a team, comprising Skillioorn, Lapidgc, and Douglas, liis oponents being Birrell, Hird, Ratcliffe, and Nasmith, junr. Ilalf-Avay through the game the Arisiting skip’s team led by 19, to- 8, but their opponents overhauled them by putting up short heads, and Avon tlie game on the last head—Nasmith 25, Calder 24.
