y NAPIER, N,ov. 1. I)i commemoration of the jubilee of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, a thanksgiving service was held in the Anglican Cathedral this afternoon.
The large congregation iclud'ed old -settlors, 'representatives of local bod--7 . ies and Government Departments, •volunteers, veterans, land members the fire service. Tile Rev. Canon Alayne, in the course of his address, jjjald testimony to the indomitable courage, energy, and enduring patience of the pioneers. The first lesirt son. was read bv Rev. A. C. Lawry (Methodist), and the second by Rev. j. A. Asher (Presbyteriani). The singing mas led by a combined choir.
