A CONVICTION CONFIRMED

WELLINGTON, Nov. 1. At the Supremo Court yesterday, Air. Justice Cooper delivered hie reserved judgment' in a case in which John F-rauiklyn Smith appealed against his conviction on a "charge of sly grog selling in Wellington. The ground of the appeal' was that the evidence of two probationary constables upon which -Smith’s conviction was based was not- corroborated by any other witness. The appeal was dismissed.
