BOWLING.
THE GISBORNE CLUB,
A large muster of the Gisborne Club’s members took advantage of the holiday yesterday to. indulge in practice on the Ivaiti rinks. The green was much faster than on opening day, and a •number of enjoyable gomes was played. During an interval in tho afternoon, tho following new members were elected: —11. E. Dodds, J. ,T. Martin, F. H. Trail.!, M. McIntosh, AV. Brown, T. E. Toneycliffe, R. T. Seymour, H. J. Lewis, and H. Gilmour.' Several other names are to he submitted for election shortly. The following games were played during the afternoon : H. Lewis, Pa.vitt, Eure, Ponsford (s), 20; heat .Townson, Redstone, Craig, Simson (s), 16. Kretcluriar, -Bullock, ' Ambridge, Bright (s), 19; heat Deßeer, E. Lewis, AV. Pet-tie, Crawford (s), 16. T. Robertson, ICymo, G.' Miller, AV. J- P- -Ganelin (s), 23; heat AVootton, R. Crawford, Collins, Corson (s), 9.
Pnltridge, 4V. Morgan, Williams, AA’ittv (s), 27; beat Brown, , AVilson, T. Clarkson, R. Robertson (s), 14.__ Poole, Lon gland, Hookey (s), 17;' beat- Taylor, Murray, Douglas (s), 12. Entries were invited for handicap matches to he commenced shortly in singles, pairs., and fours. Most of those present signified their intention, to compete. Entries will close on Thursday next,
