NAPIER. Oct. 8. Tho Haw'ko’s Bay Jockey Club’s spring meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather, with a big attendance. The totalisator for the day handled £13,810, as against £17,258 last year. Fourteen bookmakers were licensed to-day. Results:— Alangapa Hack Hurdles, 1] miles.— Alastor Douglas 9.12 1, Ancycle 2, llawhiti 3. Also started: Ruabon and Oakbourne. AA’on easily by a length. Also Started: St. Aidan, Nobel, Chanteuse, and Remission. Jenkins’ magnificent horsemanship landed Kopu a winner by a head. There was some distance between second and third. Time, lmin 41]sec.
