ALHAAIBRA CLUB v. COSMOPOLITAN CLUB.
The first match of the season was played on tho concrete pitch at A’ictoria Domain yesterday, when teams ropresonting tho above clubs tried conclusions. Tho majority of tho players wore sadly out of form, and the coldness of tho afternoon and tlie length of the grass in t.lio outfield further contributed to tho difficulty of run-getting. The Alhambra representatives batted first, and totalled 112, J. AVack playing a capital innings of 49, not out. At the call of time, the Cosmopolitan team had scored 64 for tlio loss of seyeou wickets, and tho match thus ended in a draw. Tho majority of tho bowlers wore erratic in length, and, had difficulty in hooping their deliveries on the wicket. Tho following were tho scores: — ALHAMBRA.
