THE LONDON MARKETS.

[Press Association.] NAPIER, Oct. 1. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cable : The general tone of the frozen meat market is weaker. Veal, mutton, and beef have declined. To-day’s quotations are : Best Canterbury mutton 4d, Napier, Wellington, and North , Island, 3]d, lamb first quality siJd, second old, beef hinds 4d, fores 3ld. ■ WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. A cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, September 30th, states : The wool sales-havo commenced, the attendance 'and competition being satisfactory. America and the Continent are buying and shipping suitable lots. The best wools realise the same prices as those ruling at the close of sale, inferior qualities being id lower. N.Z. SHIPPING CO.
