lucre seems to be an opinion among several fanners who have studied the subject (writes the AVairarapa correspondent of the “Dominion”) that' it would he in the interest of the country generally if the Government placed a veto on the further construction of large wooden bridges. It is contended that, under present conditions, the wooden bridges are worn out just about the time that the building loan has been paid off, and the opinion is expressed that tho State should, in future, see that- all the large trallie bridges on the arterial and other roads should be made of i'erro-eoucrete- or steel,
