AN ERRING HUSBAND. [Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Sept. 10. At the Supremo Court t'liis morning, before Mr. Justice Edwards, Lucie Caroline Maxwell, of Rotorua, •sought a dissolution of her marriage with Christopher Freke Maxwell. There wins no appearance of respondent. Petitioner, said she was married to respondent in 1890, at Rawcne, Ilokianga. There were two children, the issue of the marriage. In January, 1904, her husband was appointed Resident Commissioner at Nuie, in the Cocos Islands, and during 190 G committed adultery with a native woman. The petitioner discovered her husband’s misconduct in June, 1907, and had not since lived with him. Letters from .respondent- admitting misconduct were put in, and the hearing was adjourned pending the production of the marriage certificate.
