WELLINGTON; Sopt. 5. In tho House after midnight, the Second Ballot Bill, having passed committee, a new clause wa« added, on the Premier’s motion, making it unlaxvl'ul till after tho oilicial declaration of the poll, where another ballot ,was required, lor a candidate, or anyono acting for him, to canvass, address meetings, print or publish anything calculated to inlluenee Die voting under a penalty not exceeding £2OO. Another new clause limited the expense of any candidate at the second ballot to £SO.
The Motueka electorate was placed in tlio list of districts in which a fortnight :is allowed for a second poll. The Bill was reported. The Waikohu County Bill was read a first time, and the iiouso rose at 12.45 a.iu.
